Our next move

On Rotation at Braniff Centre Rendering

As some of you know, we’ve been looking for a new home for On Rotation for more than two years. We love our little spot in Lakewood, but we have run out of room to expand brewing operations.

In our two-year journey, we have seen a lot of spaces and talked to a lot of landlords. We’ve been very close on multiple properties being the new home of our small batch brewery. Now, we’re excited to say we found THE ONE.

After five years of brewing craft beer in Lakewood near White Rock Lake, we’ll be moving On Rotation Small Batch Brewery & Taproom to a new retail space at The Braniff Centre at Dallas Love Field, the former home of Braniff Airlines, early in 2021.

This move is not anything we take lightly.

It’s not far, but we know that some of you may miss us not being just beside White Rock Lake. We never wanted to leave Lakewood. In fact, we said it would be our forever home when we sought out the right location to start On Rotation back in 2015. But this new location is our best opportunity to build On Rotation into the brewpub experience we’ve always aspired to deliver and a chance for us to expand the brewing operations.

The Braniff Centre

Our new location will offer us 4600 square feet with three distinct outdoor patios and enough room to add some additional fermentation and brite tanks to double our capacity, to install a canning line, and to build a kitchen. Yes, that’s right! We’re going to have food.

While the taproom will look different, we’re not going to change what we do best at On Rotation. We will move in with all 40 ever-rotating taps of craft beer, cider, and hard seltzer and our select wine list. Our existing 3BBL brewhouse that has powered On Rotation to date will also make the move with a few more shiny tank friends.

Our focus has always been on making craft beer approachable yet captivating. We curate every beer we offer to evoke excitement and compel you to share that experience. Our additional capacity will allow us to share more brews more often.

We’re also looking forward to having a true patio, something we’ve wanted since our first location search began. Our patio will be a place for sharing stories, good food, and, of course, beer with friends and family.

Our food

In the kitchen, we’re building a menu now around one of our favorite food groups, fried chicken, with a supporting cast of Southern-inspired sides and shareable appetizers.

When we first started On Rotation, we wanted to be judged on the quality of our beer, not our appetizers. With five years under our belt, we have the experience to do this right and offer a stellar menu that will complement our beers.

Beer to go

Beer to go has become our lifeblood in the midst of this pandemic, and we plan to keep the to-go experience alive and well as we move into our new location.

The entrance to our new taproom will be designed as a “minimart” where you can pop in quickly to grab four-packs or crowlers or to pick up a to-go order you placed by phone or online. We don’t want anyone to feel like they have a lesser experience with our food or beer by taking it home.

When do we open at The Braniff Centre?

Construction at The Braniff Centre should begin in a few weeks. We don’t have an opening date set just yet, but it’s looking like early 2021 if the current timeline holds.

Until then, we will continue to brew out of Lakewood. Please swing by any day of the week for a safe and convenient curbside pickup, and we hope to see you in our taproom soon when things are safer for us all to get together.

Thank you again for supporting us and our beers on this journey. This next step is our biggest yet, and we’re excited to take this leap with you.

Congrats you guys! I had worried about you some during this pandemic, glad to see you’re taking the opportunity to expand. Your old location used to be right down the street from me before I moved up to Richardson. This is pretty much a lateral shift for me. Hope we can bring Dallas Board & Brews to the new location some day.

    Take care! Best of luck!
