On Rotation to leave Lakewood November 20

On Rotation Lakewood Taproom Doors

When we made the decision to move On Rotation to the Braniff Centre in 2021, we wanted to make sure the transition was as seamless as possible. But moving a brewery is a complex operation, and, unfortunately, our timeline has not aligned as we had hoped.

We are sad to tell you today that On Rotation will be moving out of our Lakewood location on November 20.

We anticipate opening at the Braniff Centre in February or March, but that means we’ll be without a taproom for a few months as we build out the new location.

We’re heartbroken to be leaving so soon and to close without a new location operational, and we hope you get a chance to come and see us before we move out and to stock up on your favorite On Rotation brews.

We know this is sad news, but we also have a few things planned before we move.

We will be offering ALL On Rotation beers in 16oz can singles starting Tuesday so you can grab whatever your guilty pleasure is in the package size of your choice to tide you over while we are without a taproom.

NTX Beer Week will kick off November 4, and we’re relaunching our INNER CIRCLE membership program in a new format as part of that celebration. If you purchase your 2021 INNER CIRCLE membership during NTX Beer Week, we’ll give you the 4-pack of your choice on the house.

We’ll also be raiding the cellar and tapping some of our rarest releases to offer in-house AND, for the first time ever, in 16oz cans.

We look forward to seeing your smiling faces (curbside or in the taproom) before we leave. Please stop by the taproom, pick up your crowlers, growlers, and 4-packs, and let’s make sure you don’t run out of beer until you can come visit us again, okay?

We’ll see you soon.

Our next move

On Rotation at Braniff Centre Rendering

As some of you know, we’ve been looking for a new home for On Rotation for more than two years. We love our little spot in Lakewood, but we have run out of room to expand brewing operations.

In our two-year journey, we have seen a lot of spaces and talked to a lot of landlords. We’ve been very close on multiple properties being the new home of our small batch brewery. Now, we’re excited to say we found THE ONE.

What is a nanobrewery?

On Rotation Nanobrewery

If you’ve visited our taproom, you know we often refer to On Rotation as a nanobrewery, but what the heck does that even mean?

Well, believe it or not, there’s somewhat of a hierarchy within craft beer brewing based on the volume of beer you produce each year.

How to Make a Craft Beer Beermosa

Craft Beer Beermosas on Pink

A mimosa can be a great way to start the day. Any day really. But there is some nuance to getting it just right — if you are into doing it right, that is.

With such a simple recipe, it’s important that all the ingredients are of the highest quality.

A traditional mimosa is just orange juice and sparkling wine or champagne. When you can, using freshly-squeezed orange juice makes a difference.

And there’s another way to “level up” your mimosa to an even fresher and more adventurous type of ‘mosa concoction. Try substituting craft beer in place of the sparkling wine.

Save Texas Breweries

Today we want to talk about a subject that’s near and dear to our hearts — saving us.

In all seriousness, folks, we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for your daily support and those of you who have gone out of your way to encourage others to check out our beers amidst this pandemic. Order online now!

As we shared on Instagram, this latest shutdown is affecting the Texas craft beer industry more than most as many Texas brewing operations have been classified as “bars” and shutdown regardless of their safety protocols in the face of COVID-19.

Dark and Stormy Beer Cocktail Recipe with an IPA

Dark and Stormy IPA Beer Cocktail

One of our favorite cocktails when we travel is the Dark ‘N’ Stormy.

If you take a beach vacation, you’re likely to find, as we did, that many of the cocktails offered are extremely fruity or overwhelmingly sweet.

The Dark ‘N’ Stormy is a perfect counter to that. It’s ginger-y and citrus rich with a smoky sweetness thanks to the dark rum that’s just right when you’re going to be in the sun.

If you want to make it even better, add beer!

A Spicy Margarita Beer Cocktail Recipe with Jalapeño Saison

Jalapeno Beer Margarita

We’re all drinking at home a lot more right now. That’s the reality of the situation when our craft beer bars and beloved breweries are mandated to operate for to-go sales only.

But there is one advantage to drinking craft beer in the comfort of your own home. You can get creative and mix your own beer cocktails or, in this case, a beerita.

Here at Team On Rotation, we are big fans of spicy drinks, as you might imagine from a brewery that produces a Jalapeño Saison on the regular, and this little concoction is one we like to mix up when margaritas are on the menu.

What is a crowler?

32oz On Rotation Crowler

A crowler is a 32oz can you may purchase to take beer to-go. In taprooms and craft beer bars that offer crowlers, you can typically have the can filled with the beer or beverage of your choice and sealed on-demand.

Once sealed, you can take the crowler home, store it in your fridge, and open it whenever you’re ready. Crowlers open just like a beer or soda can with a tab on the top so you don’t have to have any additional tools.

But where did these magical devices come from and who created them?
