But it is Just the Sip, and it is a Friday. And the first Friday of the month in the summer means a new beer in the P1 Six Pack! Alright.
So as you’ll recall, last month was Three Wide Brewing and the Invasion Smash, the mango blackberry hazy IPA. They did a great job with that beer. We all really enjoyed it. They had a little bit left, not much, so you might still be able to get some, but I can’t promise that at Three Wide Brewing in Fort Worth. But I know for a fact that our beer of the month is available right now on tap and in cans.
We will have our official release party tonight at 6 PM at On Rotation Brewery & Kitchen, our P1 Six Pack beer of the month for August, the “Do What You Want Then” New Zealand Pilsner! Awesome.
I’m excited about this one. Go, Travis.
Yeah. That’s a great can, man.
That is a fantastic That is a great can. So there you go. A beautiful can, the “Do What You Want Then” New Zealand Pilsner.
They really captured the moment on on the can. The the headphones flying off, everything.
With the look on his face. It’s almost like exactly how he looked.
I thought we didn’t have a camera in here, but it appears they captured it well.
So Jacob and his guys, man, good P1s. Love this place. I love their food, love their beer.
And, so, a New Zealand Pilsner. This is going to be, it’s a lager. And so it’s gonna be easy drinking. The base of this is 5.1% alcohol by volume, but they dry hopped it with New Zealand hops from the Garston Hop Farm there in New Zealand, which is the southernmost hop growing region in that area. And so because it’s such a southern latitude, it allows for cooler nights for longer ripening times in a more concentrated oil development in the hop. So what you get is a really unique hop, and these are Motueka and Riwaka hops, dry hops, so a little lime zest, peach, pineapple, maybe some notes of citrus herbal, and you’re gonna smell again, this is one of those that you’re probably it’s like, woah.
It’s got a punch to the smell.
But it is a pilsner. So they dry hopped it, so it’s gonna be one of those light, easy-drinking, really crisp beers for summer.
This is your first time trying this. Right?
That is delicious.
Yeah. I thought he might like that.
Man, that is really good. But, again, see, the hot flavors are not. This isn’t a bitter beer.
It doesn’t linger either. I think you really do get a little bit of that lime zest and a little citrus pineapple on that, but it’s a really light easy drinking beer. Like, the the body of it is a very light easy beer.
Yeah. I mean, that is a little dry hopping.
Yeah. For that for that style, because, as you know, man, that is really good.
Donovan and I don’t love it when it lingers on the on the palate for too long, but I don’t hate the flavors.
It’s just it’s there and settles for too long, and that doesn’t do that. That’s a nice, like, introduction to that style.
Do What You Want Then. Not bad. Man, I really like that. It’s very sweet. You get a little bit of, like, just a sweetness.
Like, maybe it’s the pineapple kinda kick on that from the Riwaka, but, man, that is that is nice. Kinda wanna drink that whole can right now.
Go for it. I will wait. Yeah.
Okay. I’ll be there tonight, 6 PM. It’s the beer release party. You can come hang out. I’ll be there for a couple of hours.
The ticket promo team will be there giving away some stuff. They’ll have that beer and several of their other beers on tap.
Will you walk around with the can drinking out of drink it out of the can with your face on it? But make sure that it’s positioned where placement.
I would, but it would not be legal to open a can of beer on those premises to drink from. You can purchase to take away. Or you can drink the beer they have on tap, and you will have this on tap.
Okay. Well, you can just carry the can around with you. Yeah. I can do that. Your pint in the other hand.
It is a really cool. I mean, that’s a pretty clear picture of my astonished face throwing my headphones in the air.
They really captured it. Yeah.
That is really well. It’s almost like you’re right in the middle of yelling when they snap.
Do What You Want Then New Zealand Pils.
That is the August P1 Six Pack beer of the month. It is available right now. They have it to go in cans. They have it on tap at On Rotation Brewery & Kitchen.
It’s right there. It is right next to Love Field. Like, you’ll go over there and think that you’re going to Love Field, but it’s off of Lemmon right on the…what is that? The East Side of Love Field just north of Mockingbird. So very easy to get.
Well done.
Yeah. Radio station, On Rotation!
We also have a couple other beers from On Rotation to crack open today.
This is their Eeyore Honey Lager. And so they brewed this with a little bit of a honey malt, so you get a little honey sweetness.
And then they also brewed it with local – and I didn’t know this until they made this beer, Jacob was telling me about this.
So I don’t know if you guys know this. Apparently, Love Field has beehives. Like, they have beekeepers at Love Field on the premises of Love Field.
Are they cultivating them? Or is it just like a problem? No. They they cultivate them.
And so cowboy hats, and they’re dressed to go to a concert? Two totally different beehives.
Oh. Yeah. That’s the only one I know about. These are bumble beehives. Gotcha.
Gotcha. So they they make honey, and so they used a honey malt, and they also used the local Dallas Love Field honey from the bees at Love Field to brew this beer. So, obviously, again, this is a lager, 5.5% ABV, so very light, but it’ll be sweet, and you’ll get that that honey sweetness from this beer.
Yeah. This is a really good one.
This is me right here. You can smell the honey. Yeah. You definitely can.
That’s smooth. That’s good. Yeah. That’s very good. What’s the ABV on this again?
5.5% ABV. Okay. Nice. Yeah.
Again, this is a great if it’s 100 and something degrees this week.
This is perfect. Another really easy drinking beer that’s got a little bit of sweetness that I think people will like quite a bit.
Yummy. I like that one. Yeah.
That’s fair enough. Goes down smooth. Don’t come up rough. That’s good.
Yeah. You like that one? You really do. The Eeyore Honey Lager. I like the name.
Can I see the can? Yeah. That’s just a right name. On Rotation. Right?
Yeah. On all these beers today are all available at On Rotation Brewery & Kitchen over there by Love Field.
Yeah. I like that a lot. Oh, it’s got the tail on the E there.
Yeah. There you go. Oh, man. On Rotation has a beer. Eeyore Eeyore I-O!
So Eeyore is a character. Oh, is it? Yeah. I didn’t know.
You didn’t know? You weren’t a Winnie the Pooh guy?
No. Pooh. It’s another Yeah.
He’s a sad guy. I didn’t know. I don’t know the characters of Winnie the Pooh. Okay. Well, that cartoon sucks.
What? Stop. I agree with Matt. This is What’s that? Hot garbage.
What did what did the Pooh do besides not wear draws and put his hands in?
Look. His fashion choices are beside the point, but everything else about Winnie the Pooh is awesome. Christopher Robin. Tigger is piglet.
Woah. It’s a very important letter. It’s a look, dude.
I just disagree with you about Winnie the Pooh.
There’s no need.
Go forward. Alright. We continue. It’s Just the Sip!
You’re a jerk.
And, again, keep in mind, thank you.
All the beers today are….Those old jokes here. Winnie the Pooh sucks. You’re right.
Won’t argue about that anymore. I’ve learned. I can’t argue with you, fellas. So all these beers…
You didn’t have to tell me to do what I want then. I backed off of that one.
So our next beer also from On Rotation Brewery & Kitchen. Start calling you Damon Wilson.
So have you ever had a Café Au Lait? Oh, man. A a New Orleans’ coffee drink, Café Au Lait.
With the L-A-I-T. Right? Yeah. Yeah. I have.
So this is a New Orleans’ style coffee milk stout brewed with chicory. And so this is a a a just a kind of a black coffee flavor, roasty bitterness, get a little bit of earthiness in this cold brew coffee and chicory to bring out the spirit of New Orleans with the lingering coffee flavor. So it is a stout, but it’s a milk stout, so it’d be a little thin, easier drinking.
It’s not a a super big bodied type beer, but 7% alcohol by volume. Okay.
Smells really good. Mhmm. It does.
Oh, yeah. It’s a milk stout.
This is tasty. What’s the difference? Well, that would be a really that’s a dumb question I was about to ask since it’s a milk stout.
I’m fine. I’m fine with the difference. I kinda figured it out on my own.
You brought in a lot of these coffee, roasty, roasted beers. And this one is probably the least lingering or egregious on the palate. It’s not thick.
No. Usually, the other ones are really thick.
You did mention milk stouts are a little thin. Yeah. And it’s more like milk stout, sweet stout, kinda interchangeable. The lactose will give it a little bit of that sweetness to it.
But its still got, like, strong flavors.
Definitely strong coffee flavor. Yeah. Roasty coffee. It’s like a sweet roasty coffee. And so that is the Café Au Lait, 7% ABV, On Rotation.
We also did from On Rotation the Eeyore Honey Lager brewed with local honey. But our P1 Six Pack beer of the month for August is the “Do What You Want Then” New Zealand Pilsner.
That one will be easy to find. You can go get it. It’s got my face on the can looking so angry.
Throwing headphones because you’re so pissed at Travis! Yeah.
There you go. So you have that available in cans. All these beers are available in cans and on tap at on rotation.
I took a picture. If you wanna see the cans, you can find me on Instagram – at @mcclearin on Instagram.
Give me some more of that Winnie!
Yeah. I want the I want the honey one, too.
Good. Because I’m drinking Do What You Want Then!
So, well, you know what? Do what you want then!
I will.
So there we are. Go grab one at On Rotation Brewery & Kitchen, and I hope to see many of you out there tonight at the official release party for the Do What You Want Then beer. I will be at On Rotation at 6 PM tonight.
So swing by! Maybe have some dinner because their food there – the fried okra is insane. It is incredible fried okra.
And the buffalo chicken sandwich is always my go to.
See you out there tonight. Find me on Instagram at @mcclearin, and go grab the beer from On Rotation.
Are we, playing this as the official introduction of the song? Yeah. On reboot. Hey. Hey.
Do What You Want. Like, when they open the doors and I walk into the brewery, this just drops down. Somebody throws me these beers, and I Stone Cold.
Yeah. Yeah.
Man. Then I come out behind him with my chainsaws.
If you wanna do that, man. Weird that is.
I’ll come out and I can throw it to you.
Okay. So you can catch it, and then just Travis walked into the…oh, man, that is easy.
Boy, I don’t know if we can have all three of us together in one room like that!
I really like the Do What You Want Then. It’s so easy.
Yes. It really is.
Nice. Nice. Alright. Way to go On Rotation.
