The flock flies again, and we’re keeping it a double hazy IPA in this 21st edition.
Candied watermelon, bright stone fruit, tart blueberry, freshly sliced mango, juicy pineapple, and luscious pear make up the bouquet that is Volume 21 with grassy undertones.
As we did with Volume 20, we went big with Volume 21 as a double hazy IPA at 9.1% ABV with a pillowy soft body and little to no bitterness. The fruit is bright and zesty, providing balance to the ABV so that this one drinks smooth.
Volume 21 gets its name “The Story of a Young Heart” from A Flock of Seagulls’ third studio album, praised for its “less cluttered, more polished” sound. It was one of their last (until 2018) to feature the original bandmates. It felt like the appropriate name for our “coming of age” 21st Flocculation of Seagulls.
