Sorry, Goose, but it’s time to buzz the tower.

This beer was just a tweet back in May when we first discovered the Dallas Airport System had a beehive.

We slid into those DMs so fast to see if we could get our hands on some of that airport honey, and they were happy to oblige.

The buzzy result of this collaboration drops on Friday.

Meet Buzz the Tower, a Vienna lager with peanut butter and honey.

Like a fresh piece of toast slathered with creamy peanut butter and drizzled with warm honey, this buzzy Vienna lager is sweet, crispy, and comforting in all the right ways.

Its floral aroma and touch of honey sweetness come from the addition of local honey, produced by our honey bee friends from Dallas Airport System’s beehive at the Dallas Executive Airport (DEA).

The salty sweetness and earthiness of peanut butter carried throughout the aroma and flavor are driven by the almost 4 pounds per barrel of peanut butter added during fermentation.

The DEA beehive houses around 18,000 bees at the moment. This number fluctuates throughout the year and can climb to over 50,000 during the spring and early summer. The bees can store more than 100 pounds of honey during these seasons.

This year, the airport’s beehive contractor, Alvéole, harvested roughly 20 pounds of honey in June alone. Since then, nearly 30 pounds have been harvested.

You can follow Alvéole’s visits and the sweet honey work of these bees through MyHive.

Treat yourself to a Buzz the Tower lager this Friday, and you’ll see how fast it flies by!
